Bread, BBQ...
Talk About a Perfect Saturday!

The National Festival of Breads is a fun, educational day for the whole family! Inside the ballroom will be baking demonstrations, eight finalists competing for the title of 2017 NFOB champion, a children’s area, bread samples, new recipes and much more!

Outside at the Blue Earth Plaza you’ll find demonstrations by national BBQ champion Rod Gray, a food truck and live music.

It's Free!

In lieu of an entry fee, we ask that you bring a non-perishable food item to support the Flint Hills Breadbasket.

Start the Day with a Run

Come join us for the Inaugural Enrich Your Life 5K & 1 Mile fun run.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Flint Hills Breadbasket.  Chip timing provided by Manhattan Running Company and sponsored by the Wheat Foods Council.

Watch the Contestants Compete for the Title

Eight contestants from all over the United States will be competing for the title of National Festival of Breads Champion. The contestants will have seven hours to mix, shape, rise and bake their award-winning yeast breads. Swing by their kitchens in the ballroom to see their magic in action and perhaps even get a sample of their delicious breads. Come early before the samples are gone!

Baking experts will be giving demonstrations throughout the day. They include a food stylist, best-selling cookbook author, FACS educator and manager of the Bake for Good Kids Program. Visit nationalfestivalofbreads.com for a complete schedule of events.

BBQ Like a Pro

Barbecue National Champions in 2009, Pellet Envy has gone on to be featured multiple times on the hit show BBQ Pitmasters.  Rod Gray even created a product line of his own rubs and sauces, called EAT Barbecue. He'll be demonstrating his techniques. You can also learn from Manhattan's own Backyard Kitchen specialty barbecue store owner, Aaron Nickell.
