Smokehouse Cranberry Cheese Bread Sandwich, Kansas Wheat
What Makes It Great:  The 2015 National Festival of Breads champion recipe is the base for a smoky, savory interior loaded with turkey, bacon and cheese or create your own signature sandwich using this winning bread as the foundation.


2 (1 ¼ ounce) slices Smokehouse Cranberry Cheese Bread

1 ounce thinly sliced reduced-fat Cheddar cheese (optional)

1 slice thick-cut bacon, cooked

1 tablespoon prepared Pesto

2 ounces thinly sliced, reduced-sodium turkey breast

Cooking spray


  1. Preheat Panini pan, griddle or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Place cheese on one bread slice. Top with bacon, pesto and turkey and remaining bread slice.
  3. Lightly spray Panini pan with non-stick cooking spray. Place sandwich in Panini pan.
  4. Cook sandwich 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until cheese melts and bread is toasted. Cut each sandwich in half.
