Double Chocolate Cranberry French Toast

Double Chocolate-Cranberry Bread makes two loaves. Set aside half of a loaf to make an indulgent French Toast.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon unsalted butter or margarine
3 large eggs, well beaten
¾ whole milk
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
8 slices Double Chocolate-Cranberry Bread
Maple syrup, whipped topping, mini chocolate chips (optional)

Directions

  1. In large skillet, heat butter over medium heat until melted.
  2. In shallow dish, whisk eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla.
  3. Dip bread into egg mixture, one at a time.
  4. Cook until golden brown, about 4 minutes on each side.
  5. Serve hot, with maple syrup, whipped topping and mini chocolate chips.

Yield: 4 servings.
